The
Beginning...
-----MO
Girls USA started of as
a subsidiary of M.O Designs,
Inc. (now, MOtif Concepts)
, a premier graphic design
firm based out of Atlanta,
Georgia and Los Angeles,
CA. This company specialized
in designing and printing
flyers as well as other
advertising material. The
company had a high demand
for pictures of beautiful
models. Why? You may ask...Well,
its simple, beautiful models
on flyers and advertisements
attract people to attend
events and purchase products.
Generally, the company
would use images of established
models, but after a while
that became redundant.
Same names, same faces,
same looks! It was time
for something new, something
that would allow them to
keep beautiful models on
flyers and advertisements
but still have an exclusive
look.
-----Marques
Owens a.k.a. "MO"
came
to a conclusion. He would
recruit young aspiring
models and use their fresh
faces on the flyers and
advertisements. This would
allow the company to have
exclusive models as well
as the opportunity to give
them exposure while promoting
them. The chosen name
"MO
Girls USA"
derived
from MO's name, the gender
of the models that would
be featured, and the span
in which the company would
operate. MO Girls USA innovated
the name "Model
Promotion Company",
straying away from the
term 'agency' since our
job is solely to promote
and give more exposure
to the models. Many new
company's have followed
suit and have referenced
themselves as a "Model
Promotion Company"
as
well.
-----The
inaugural project of was the
MO Girls "Kaleidoscope"
2002
Glamour Calendar. This
would be the 1st surrealistically
designed calendar in sometime,
IF EVER! The combination
of M.O Designs' superb
graphic services and MO
Girls' newly recruited
models made "Kaleidoscope"
an
extremely hot and innovative
calendar for 2002. From
this successful project,
MO Girls gained attention
locally, nationally, and
even internationally. In
addition, a few of the
models featured in the
first project quickly received
offers from FUBU, various
casting directors for videos,
and gained many fans. This
would mark the successful
beginning of a prestigious
model promotion company.
